What you need
A Boolean or Enum series and an integration able to send its state.
How to do it
- Use Boolean for true or false, or Enum for names such as running and stopped.
- Send states to /api/v1/ingest/states with a point ID and the actual measurement timestamp.
- Open the state history and check changes, freshness and gaps. Add a state alarm if needed.
Good to know
False is a measured value. Unknown means a reliable current state is unavailable. A late older state can correct history without replacing a newer current state.
If something goes wrong
Send JSON true or false for Boolean series, not the strings "true" or "false". For Enum series, use the exact agreed state name.
