What you need
For npm installation, Node.js 22 or newer. Native downloads do not need Node.js.
How to do it
- Choose the install method in the agent guide. The same program also provides the CLI.
- On Linux, the user installer below is another option. Download and review it before running it.
- Run metribeacon version. Then connect your account with setup or follow the machine identity guide.
Good to know
Installing the program does not create an account. Keep its identity file private. The Linux user installer normally places the program in ~/.local/bin.

If the command is not found, check PATH or run the full installed path. Do not bypass signature or architecture errors.
