Sensors and home automation
Connect home automation and sensors for temperature, energy or other readings.
On this page
What you need
A sensor source and an available Home Assistant, MQTT or ESP32 integration.
How to do it
- Create a Sensor monitor and choose the series type and unit for each signal.
- Follow the integration guide and store the device key safely.
- Check the first values against the sensor. Add a threshold or missing-data alarm if useful.
Good to know
MetriBeacon receives data over HTTPS. For MQTT, keep your own broker and use the local bridge. Calibrate raw sensor values before calling them temperature or energy.
If something goes wrong
Check sensor availability, its clock and the topic or entity mapping. Do not send zero as a substitute for an unavailable sensor.
